How treat Minor Burns

There are basically many ways where one can get burned such as chemicals, steam, tanning machines, electricity, fire, and the most common which is through too much exposure to the heat of the sun.  There are generally three categories which are First Degree Burn, Second Degree Burn, and Third Degree Burn.

Though it may not be as necessary as it may seem, it is absolutely advisable that one should know how to treat a first aid to burns.

One of the ways to treat a minor burn is by running the burn area under a cold water for ten to fifteen minutes. Apply cold compression to the burnt area is also advisable but never apply ice directly to the burn because it will just worsen and add damage to the burn.  Apply lotion to the burned area in order to relieve pain and prevent dryness from the burn. After moisturizing the burned part, wrap it loosely with a gauze and avoid wrapping it tight because the burned area needs to be able to breath.

Expect that blisters will form as soon as the burn heals. Take note to never remove or break the blisters since these are just the natural and normal healing process of our body.
